      At 9:10 on Monday February 17th, Local members responded to a call for a car into a building on W. Dry Creek Ct. in Littleton. When members arrived on scene, they found a car had crashed through the front doors of The Boardroom Sports Bar and Steakhouse. The car was still running inside the business, but the driver was nowhere to be found. Littleton Police also arrived on scene to investigate.

      Good Monday Morning, Annual Ball - This Saturday is the Annual Ball at the Denver Hyatt Regency Convention Center, 650 15th Street, Denver. The cocktail reception starts at 4:30 pm, and the Ceremony begins at 7:00 pm. Tickets are still available from the Online Store. Rooms are also available, but you will need to call the hotel.

      FAST Response to Montville

      On Saturday, February 15, 2020, at around 12:08 P.M. Montville, Mohegan, Oakdale, and Quaker Hill Fire Departments along with Mohegan Tribal FAST were dispatched to #491 Norwich New London Turnpike for a possible bedroom fire.  Upon arrival on scene Montville Ladder 15 found fire showing from the A/D corner of the structure.  A working fire was transmitted.

      SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno and Fire Commissioner B.J. Calvi held a ceremony Friday at the Raymond M. Sullivan Public Safety Complex to swear in five new recruits and promote 11 other officers. Calvi swore in Samuel Hudak, William Torres Jr., Daniel Allard and Matthew McElhiney as lieutenants.lio Rivera.

      Today marks the 125th Lynn Firefighters Day. Lynn Firefighters Day was adopted by the Lynn City Council following a tragic fire where four Lynn Firefighters died in the line of duty on February 13, 1895 at City Box 41, 53-55 Munroe Street, Hutchinson Hardware.       Captain Scott Suplita Retirement

      After 21 years of dedicated service to the City of Norwich, Captain Scott Suplita worked his last shift Wednesday, February 12, 2020.  Captain Suplita was not only a leader on the fireground but a strong advocate for the members of Local 892 as well.

      COUNCILOR BOOKER GEARS UP

      Last week, Councilor Kevin Booker visited the NLFD and geared up for some drills alongside Group 2. Councilor Booker went through a hose stretch and fire attack evolution, ladder placement and an EMS demonstration. Councilor Reona Dyess was also on hand. Inspectors Turner and Pouncey were sworn in today during a ceremony held in the auditorium of Memorial Town Hall.       New Engine 44 In Service Ceremony

      After a decade of responding to emergencies, over 8,000 engine hours and 93,000 miles, Engine 44 was replaced with a brand new 2019 Pierce Velocity today. Members filled the 750 gallon tank with water from the old engine, gave the new rig a water cannon salute and did a traditional push in ceremony.       On Sunday February 2nd, just before 11 a.m., Local members responded to a house fire on S. Crocker St. in Littleton. Initial reports stated there was heavy smoke coming out of the windows and eaves of the house.
      2020 7th District Benevolent Fund Scholarship Application Period Open

      IAFF State Political Training Academy Held in St Cloud

      The IAFF held a two-day State Political Training Academy in St Cloud on January 28th & 29th. The class is a condensed version of the 6 day annual Politcal Training Academy the IAFF holds each year. Twenty-two students received a comprehensive education in what it takes to run a politcal campaign covering topics such as messaging, fundraising, and targeting voters among other topics.

      The FY 2019 Assistance to Firefighters (AFG) grant application period is February 3-March 13, 2020.  AFG grants provide fire departments with funding for critically needed equipment, protective gear, emergency vehicles, training and other resources needed to protect the public and emergency personnel from fire and related hazards.
